Marie Ulmer graduated the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial design in the 1941, now the University of the Arts, and worked for the Free Library as a graphic designer for over 30 years ending in 1978. She has been taking art classes and making art for over 75 years and had never shown until this January when she exhibited copper etchings from the 30s and 40s at Proximity Gallery. Included in this show at Bambi is a colored pencil and water color that she made in 1932 in a style whose time has very much come again. Marie lives in the same house she grew up in East Kensington. A home completely filled with her creations. Marie is a true bohemian artist who literally can’t stop making art and at 91 she will have her first solo show. A show curated by Bambi gallery and Proximity gallery with the help of the University of the Arts.
